Our Aim
As a network of research institutes and think tanks in Asia. NTS-Asia aims to do the following :
Develop further the process of networking among scholars and analysts working on NTS issues in the region
To build long-term and sustainable regional capacity for research on NTS issues, and
Mainstream and advance the field of non-traditional security studies in Asia.
Our Consortium > The Consortium of Non-Traditional Security Studies in Asia
The Consortium of Non-Traditional Security Studies in Asia (NTS-Asia) marks the 3rd phase of
the Ford-RSIS Project on Non-Traditional Security Issues.
The project is funded by the Ford Foundation, and is directed by the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.
Research Agenda
- To provide an avenue for scholars and policy-makers in Asia to discuss and analyse NTS issues in the region
- To encourage the participation of other scholars in and outside the region on the basis of the principle of inclusiveness and knowledge sharing
- To establish linkages with institutions and organizations in other parts of the world to exchange information, insights and experiences in the area of NTS
- To convene regional and international meetings and other collaborative activities for the purpose of consolidating existing researches on NTS-related issues
- To produce and disseminate publications and where possible, policy recommendations, to relevant governmental and intergovernmental bodies on NTS issues
